The bill went on to state that there should be "two m embers· of the Student Execut ive Council, one of whom shall be the Student Body Treasurer," and that the Speaker of the Se nate shall appoint the chairman. According to the Constitution. however, any committee formed to aid the Senate and the ASASC in financial matters is placed under the jurisdiction of the Executive Board of Finance, and the chairman of any such com mittee will be the Student Body Treasurer. Therefore, the chairman cannot be appointed by the Speaker of the House. ASASC Vice President Phil Whitmore presented the bill to the Student Court under the constitutional authorities vested in him in Article IV, Section 8. It is probable that the bill will be re-drafted and passed by the Senate with necessary revisions, since the committee has been doing an effective job.
