(LJ photo) Lumberjacks will play in Ensphere Sept. 17 The Lumberjack! will play their first game In the Enspbere on Saturday, Sept. 17. Kickoff will be at 7:30p.m. Dr. J. Lawrence Walkup, university president and Ralph Bilby, member of the Arizona Board of Regents, announced Wednesday afternoon that Mardian Broa. construction company would allow the Lumberjacks to play the Sept. 17 game in the new building. Although construction Is not yet completed, work on the inside of the domed structure Is complete enough to allow the Jacks to host the University of Montana In a Big Sky Conference game on that date. "On Monday, Sept., U, Mardlan's will be back on construction to finish the work," Dr. Walkup commented. Head Lumberjack cbacb Joe Salem was pleased with the decision. "Regardless of when we get in, It's certainly one of the best athletic facilities I've even been in," said Salem. The Lumberjacks are l~ forward to getting to play in the Enspbere. "It will give us a home town adwiilltage with the crowd closing us In, sirrrilar to the basketball gym. We'll be looking forward to playing there," said Salem. Full-time students with validated ID card! will be admitted free to the west side of the stands for all seasonal athletic functions, Ernie Almaraz, athletic business manager said Wednesday. Planned Parenthood office suggested for Flagstaff In an effort to rru.ke contraceptive services more available to NAU students, ASNAU President Mark Sanbower and other campus leaders met with officials of Planned Parenthood of Phoenix, Inc. last week. The Planned Parenthood Director, Joe D. Davis, called the meeting "productive" and promised to place his organization's resources behind the student drive to improve accessability to this kind of health care. Meeting with Davis in the Student Union were Sanbower, Vice President Jorge Ribiero, A WS Prl!Sident Terry Gibson, and others. "We definitely plan /to open a Flagstaff clinic near the University," Davis said, "and we are underwriting special training for a local nurse who will head ~ur program here." Davis was speaking of Eileen Breslin, R.N., Coordinator of the EASE program on campus last year. Planned Parenthood is sponsoring Breslin In a special three-month course for family planning nurse practitioners at the University of New MexiCQ beginning In October. After the training is completed, the NAU nursing graduate will be employed by Planned Parenthood, and will be certified to do complete gynecological e:s:ams and to prescribe contraceptive methods under a doctor's super\':ision. "We have a major job of cor.ununity organizing to do," Davis said. "In addition to the recruitment and training o! staff and volunteers, there will be the public bearings necessary to gain 'certificates of need ', leading to licell!'ing from the Arizona Department of Health Services." " Because so many students will be seeking round trip excursion tickets, they should purchase their tickets no later than the first week in October," said Ms. Montgomery. All excursion fare tickets must be paid for 10 days after booking or 14 days before the flight, whichever date cernes first. Excursion seats account for 30 per cent of the occupancy of selected planes and receive the same services as coach seats. Excursion tickets originating in Flagstaff are available for flights to New York City, Chicago and Miami Fla. The ucunion fare to Chicago from Flagstaff is $216 compared to $270 coach. Flagstaff to New York e:s:cur-sion tickets are $296 round trip compared to $370 coach. Montgomery said students going to Los Angeles have an opportunity to save extra dollars by taking a K class night flight for $76. K Class day tare for round trip flight to Los Angele~ is $96. No meals are served on K class flights said Montgomery. Other round trip ticket prices include, excursion fare to San Francisco, U52 ; Dallas, $139 and Miami Fla; $267. Travelers seeking round trip bus tickets to varied destinations may choose to travel on Continental Trailways or Greyhound. Greyhound ticket clerk, Jeff Robbins said, "Nobody gets left behind because of filled buses. If one departure fills, we just wue another bus." Robbins said a bus accommodating an overflow might t:.e an hour late in departing. Greyhound's round trip rates to various cities include Flagstaff to Dallas; U27.80; Denver $11UO, Los A~J~Jeles f&l.~. San Fran-ctsco $106.60, Miami, Fla. $150, New York City $150, and Chicago $150. Continental Trailways' Flagstaff Terminal Supervisor Pbii Thomas said that his finn's current price sheet would be valid ·to Oct. 1$. After that date, it is subject to rate Increases.
