A Jhird im p o rta n t p u rpose o f education is to prom ote in te g rity of achievement. S tu d e n ts m u st realize th a t m ediocrity is n o t enough. In th e f u tu re th e p re re quisite of success w ill be conscientious endeavor to reach th e h ig h est standards. A s we face a g ain the possibility o f a serious unem ployment situ atio n , o u r youth realize th a t h ig h e r ed u cation is a valuable asset in a tta in m e n t o f th e rating and em ploym ent th e y desire. Right a ttitu d e s an d resp ect fo r law and a u th o rity m u st be fo s te red by education. W ith o u t these-attitudes we c an n o t ha* e th e kind of nation we w an t. A fte r a w a r there is alw ays a tendency tow ard lawlessness. I t is essen tial to in still respect fo r a u th o rity and truth in our stu d en ts. In conclusion D r. -R aubenheim er brought out th e fa c t th a t ed ucation on a g ra n d e r scale is needed. The hope fo r p reserv atio n o f peace lies in b e tte r ed ucated citizens. Education o p p o rtu n itie s should be equalized by fed eral aid to needy states. H igh s a la rie s fo t te ach ers should be available, co m m en su rate with the im portance o f education "''and with the cost o f p re p a rin g fo r the profession. In s p ite o f th e shortage of teach ers, only young people w ith th e h ig h e st o f q u alifications should be encouraged to enter the profession so th a t high standards can be m aintained. In their com m unities te a c h e rs need to iissume th e lead ersh ip to w hich their train in g e n title s them . Education o p p o rtu n itie s should be equalized by fed eral aid to needy states. H igh s a la rie s fo t te ach ers should be available, co m m en su rate with the im portance o f education "''and with the cost o f p re p a rin g fo r the profession. In s p ite o f th e shortage of teach ers, only young people w ith th e h ig h e st o f q u alifications should be encouraged to enter the profession so th a t high standards can be m aintained. The unit is of a mixed gro u p o f subjects, including courses in Philosophy of Education, M ental H y-gene, Secondary Education, School Finance and A dm inistration.
