I t is a well known fact th a t H endricks p re fe rs th e end position. B eing a ball c a rry in g head-line sn atch er doesn’t in te re s t him in th e least. He likes football, but he likes to play end. In 1931 C arl g rad u ated fro m Miam i H igh school w here h e had been som e so re o f a sensation a s a prep school ath le te . A s a fre sh m a n h ere C arl played a t end fo r Coach A. M. M cC reary. L ast y e a r H endricks played th e sam e position on M c-In-to sh ’s conference chaim pions. T his fall, how ever, C arl w as sh ifted to th e backfield. O vernight he becam e a sensation. D espite th e fa c t th a t th is y e a r’s V arsity has had m any setbacks, it has alw ays given a good account o f itself. C arl h as given th e T ta h d s m any a th rill and has received m any a w riteu p for it. On th e n ig h t before th e T em pe g am e C arl intim ated th a t he p re ferred th e line to th e backfield.
