Milton
Snow
was
appointed
as the
official
photographer
by the
Soil
Conservation
Service
, in the
1930s
, to
record
the
images
of
dams
,
schools
,
roads
, and
hospitals
that were
being
constructed
across
the
Navajo
and
Hopi
Reservations
.
Snow
also
became
the
staff
photographer
of the
BIA
and
began
to
take
pictures
of the
reservations
. His
photos
reveal
the
various
social
,
economic
, and
cultural
activities
of the
Hopis
living
on the
reservations
.
