BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY: Milton Snow was appointed as the official photographer by the Soil Conservation Service, in the 1930s, to record the images of dams, schools, roads, and hospitals that were being constructed across the Navajo and Hopi Reservations. Snow also became the staff photographer of the BIA and began to take pictures of the reservations. His photos reveal the various social, economic, and cultural activities of the Hopis living on the reservations. |
