, he
recorded
that the
moon
was
full
on their
first
night
: '
Camp
at
Aztec
Creek
.
Walk
up
into the
bald
rocks
after
dark
.
Full
moon
.
Beautiful
.
Total
Moon
Eclipse
about
3:30
AM.
' On the
second
day
he
made
note
of the '
numerous
ducks
,
heron
,
egret
, and a
few
geese
seen
along
the
sand
bars.
'
Due
to
wind
and
rain
on the
second
night
, they
returned
to their
Aztec
camp
and '
people
slept
in
caves
and
under
tent
.
Thelma
bothered
by
ring
tail
cats
and a
bobcat.
'
Tad
also
gave
some
information
about
this
trip
in a
1997
interview
that was
conducted
during
the
Glen
Canyon
book
project
. He
identified
sites
and
told
a
few
anecdotes
. He
particularly
mentioned
the
wonderful
time
they
all
had in the
mud
at
Dungeon
Canyon
: '
Slosh
through
it
up
to
your
knees
,
yes!
' He also
talked
about
'
Earls
big
flat
boat,
' the
Tseh
Na-ni-ah-go
atin
, and
gave
an
interpretation
of the
name
as 'The
Way
Up
to
Rainbow--
Go
to the
Rainbow
.

, they
take
people
to
Rainbow
Bridge.
' Also
significant
