'--but This Day, the Morning of the Fourth Inaugural, He Was Feeling Great' The young Navy Photographer's Mate, 2/c, had fun lining up this Roosevelt brood in the Oval Room upstairs just before the President emerged about the south Lawn to take the oath for the last time. 'Roosevelt was playing with the kids and having a marvelous time,' he recalls. 'He was completely relaxed.' Late Roosevelt Family Portrait -- Taken by an official U.S. Navy photographer at the special request of the President on the day of the inaugural ceremonies on Jan. 20, 1945, this group depicts Mr. and Mrs. Roosevelt and their grandchildren on what was deemed to be the last family gathering before the Chief Executive died.
