Correspondance, Lizzie Riordan to Babbitts, September, 1883
[item #]
Detroit Sept. 30, 1883
My dear dear Cousins,
Can it be
possible that almost a month has
elapsed since I have seen you? and
a year will pass before I shall have
the pleasure of seeing you again? When
I allow my thoughts to wander into
those realms, and the visions of ten
months good hard study, perhaps
not to see one from home, I am a
little morsel inclined to be, shall I
say, homesick? I would say that,
had I not so many blessings about
me. A loving sister a dear mother,
and affectionate companions are
ever ready to dispel tears, and
banish unpleasant thoughts. I
shall not write a very long letter
