Correspondence, David Babbitt to George Babbitt, August 17, 1884 Standard Mining Co. P.O. Box 1118. Leadville, Colo., Aug 17th 1884 Dear George, Yours of the 12th to hand. Think I shall go to Arizona, of course I will advise you of my course when I return to Leadville. You are certainly asking enough for the farm ($160 pr acre). Don't scare off any one who really wants a farm by using such a figure. Would close the contract immediately at $125 pr acre. You must tell them that there will be a RR station at Crescentville in the course of a year or so. Am informed on good authority that a survey has been made and contract let to build R.R. on the opposite side of the canal. It will run lengthwise through Logan's farm. Unless we can sell the farm would be in no hurry to dispose of the business, as we can do very little with the proceeds of the grocery in the cattle business. If we get a good offer
