BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY: William Walker was born in Scotland on March 14th, 1885. He left his family in 1903 and went adventuring. Sometime between 1905 and 1914 he first came to Flagstaff, Arizona. In applying for his passport in 1920(?), he decided to make himself a US citizen by indicating that he had been born in Dover, New Hampshire. Early in 1923 William met Rosamund Hopkins Fox in Flagstaff, and they were married in San Diego on Sept. 16, 1923. They became the parents of one daughter and two sons. Rosamund died in Flagstaff in 1937. William worked as a carpenter and Indian Trader, spent time in southern Arizona, Panama, and Florida, participated in the 1916 Punitive Expedition into Mexico with George S. Patton, and befriended author Harold Bell Wright. William Walker died on February 28, 1970. |
