Description	BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY: Rose Wrubel Lamb was born in Akron, Ohio on November 17, 1916. She was the first high school graduate of her family and became a law secretary after she graduated. In 1943 Rose enlisted in the WAAC (Women's Army Auxiliary Corps) and was shipped out, first to Casablanca, Morocco, then to Tunis, Tunisia, and finally to Caserta, Italy. Once she returned from the war Rose lived between Miami Beach, Florida and Brooklyn, New York. David Wrubel was born in 1912 in New York. He also joined the military during WWII and worked in the hospitals in Britain during much of the war. After the war he lived and worked in south Florida. It was his idea to take the trip across country to see the country that he and his siblings had fought to defend. A few years before 1949 Rose and her brother David began to plan and save up money to take a trip across the country. In the summer of 1949 they quit their jobs and left for a road trip across the United States. David Wrubel died on December 17, 1954 in Brooklyn of a heart attack. Rose Wruble Lamb got married and gave birth to Joyce Lamb in 1950 while living in Miami Beach Florida. In January of 2000 Rose Wrubel Lamb became a resident of the Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home in Walsenburg, Colorado. She died in her sleep on June 21, 2002.
