BIOGRAPHICAL
HISTORY
:
Glen
Rollin
Hyde
is
best
known
for his
1928
disappearance
in the
Grand
Canyon
. He and
wife
Bessie
Louise
Haley
Helmick
Hyde
took
a
unique
honeymoon
trip
down
the
Green
River
from
Utah
through
to the
Colorado
River
of the
Grand
Canyon
. They were to
finish
their
journey
in
Needles
,
California
but they
never
reached
their
destination
.
Subsequent
search
parties
found
only
their
sweep
scow
,
camera
,
Bessie's
diary
, and the
possessions
they had
brought
with them.
No
one
ever
saw
or
heard
from them
again
.
