Description |
BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY: In Tad's diary from this trip, he notes on July 8th that the, 'water [is] low, but higher than previous runs.' He doesn't give the CFS level, but unfortunately, water was low enough to cause some damage to the boat. On July 9th he writes, 'Sheared pin above Lake Can & went on oars down to lake.' Such a problem seems to have been only a minor inconvenience; on July 10th Tad claims 'Slept good. Off early on oars without too much trouble, bumping only a couple times.' Again on July 11th he records, 'shear prop pin on rock above Oak. Float down to camp under willow at head of Twilight Can. Bar.' But that didn't stop an easy hike to Rainbow Bridge the next day, nor a sunset walk up Klondike Trail, nor a good sunrise 'breakfast of corn meal mush, bacon, cinnamon roll, applesauce & coffee.' |
