BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY: In a 1997 interview, Tad Nichols remarked 'Oh, this is the trip I had to escort three girls.' He was referring to Katie Lee, Rita Plahetka (called Reet), and Doris Fletcher (a friend of Katie's from Pasadena). One of the many sites he took the women to was West Canyon, where Frank Wright had brought a group from the Museum of Northern Arizona to conduct an archaeological dig. In the same 1997 interview, Tad identifies Christy Turner as one of the young men on the dig. This is the same Christy Turner who later became a prominent anthropologist/archaeologist, and who has spent over thirty years in the Department of Anthropology at Arizona State University at Tempe. |
