Covered Wagons reliving the custom of the 1870s in the 70-mile trek thru the vast Arizona Strip country between Pipe Spring Nat'l Monument and St. George, Utah, following historic Honeymoon Trail. Pipe Spring - a tithing ranch of the Mormon Church, produced & delivered cheese, butter & beef to workers building St. George Temple. Later on, the same mode of travel was used by young Mormon couples to make their marriage vows in the temple. Original bunkhouse at Pipe Spring is in background. [Caption by Josef Muench]
