The Hopi Indian Village of Hotevilla on the Third Mesa, Ariz. This village with terraced fields on slopes that reach down into Dinne-bito Wash. The Hopis are the finest dry farmers known. This pueblo was founded in 1906 when quarrels in the mother village of Oraibi led 300 Hopis to leave it and start this new community. [Photographer's caption]
