Rainbow Bridge Nat'l Monument, So. Utah. Largest arch of its kind in the world, this span owes its name to the shape rather than to the red sandstone from which it has been eroded to a 278-foot span & 40 ft thick at the top. It stands 309 ft. above the stream bed below, and is reached by boat from Lake Powell and a half mile hike. Note horse & rider beneath bridge.
